Showcasing our September Employees of the Month

September’s been and gone, and our colleagues have continued to shine organisation-wide in so many ways. This includes a certain trio of talented team members, who excelled so much throughout the month, they’ve been awarded Employee of the Month status.

Holly Eves, Paul Carey and Brian Passfield are among the latest colleagues to have achieved the top title in recognition of all of their hard work and commitment to doing a great job. Keep reading for all the details…

Employee of the month #1: Holly Eves, Technical Executive

Holly continues to be an incredible asset to our Technical Team and the wider organisation. She consistently creates highly effective layouts within impressive turnaround times, proactively feeds back issues to the team and uses her extensive knowledge of the CTX product to inform others. These are all qualities she consistently demonstrates month-on-month, which is coupled with her 'Let's get it done' attitude, undoubtedly generating increased sales and universal admiration from her colleagues.

Holly’s insights are invaluable in continuously developing the team, and it is clear she is a driving force within Algeco’s overall success. She participates in numerous department-wide discussions relating to processes and resources – whether it be testing out prototype resources or offering balanced views on how we should operate.

Thanks to her unfaltering professional insight, Holly is helping foster a collaborative culture in which we are all striving to achieve the same thing - success.

Employee of the month #2: Paul Carey, Service Centre Manager

Paul has worked tirelessly to make sure recent integration work has run as smoothly as possible. There have been some difficult challenges involved, but Paul has embraced them (and continues to fully embrace them) and always tries to find a solution. Assisting with everything he is asked in the best possible way; he frequently finds a way to help, responding to colleagues out of hours if needs be.

Extremely considerate, Paul cares about the whole team and notices when people are stressed and in need of someone to check in on them. To add to this, he has made sure we all have the right equipment and support in place to enable us to carry out our work as effectively as possible. This includes providing our hire desk hybrid workers with docking stations to make it easier for them to use their laptops in the depot – he even set everything up in his own time.

At the moment, Paul is currently covering two roles. And in typical Paul style, he has fully embraced the situation, doing whatever’s needed to minimise any disruption. He is ultimately the one colleague we can all go to with any query or to discuss any work-related challenges we may be struggling to overcome.

Employee of the month #3: Brian Passfield, Senior Estimator

Brian recently spent time understanding and proactively tackling a key AutoCAD-related issue, which enabled our Technical and Estimating Teams to get back on track sooner rather than later.

Despite his role not involving the preparation of drawings, Brian frequently steps in and assists and prepares drawings if the wider team is at full capacity. As a Senior Estimator, his knowledge of AutoCAD and wider systems is impressive, which means he is often called upon to help find a speedy solution to any issues that may crop up.

When all of our AutoCAD activity was transferred to SharePoint, the existing tool pallets and component drawing parts were removed. This prevented our Technical and Estimating Teams from carrying out any drawing work until all of the systems had been synced to the new location. Given his extensive knowledge and experience, Brian set to work on overcoming the issue instead of sitting back and waiting for third party assistance. Thanks to his proactivity, there was zero downtime and our enquiries did not suffer.
