Official Celebration - Hatchlands Primary School
Our latest permanent building project, Hatchlands Primary School in Redhill, has officially had its doors opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey Michael More-Molyneux.
Hatchlands Primary School previously relied on temporary buildings with pupils split across smaller spaces. This presented challenges for the school and meant that they couldn’t gather as a whole community or have space for extra facilities for after school clubs, indoor P.E. or to eat a hot meal at lunchtime.
The decision was made to redevelop the entire site and create a brand new school building. Elliott was brought in to create the space using the ibex offsite system. Hatchlands Primary School is now a state-of-the-art primary school in their purpose-designed two-storey building. The new space features a hybrid sports hall and 8 junior, 2 reception and 4 infants classes allowing a total of 420 students once they’re at full capacity.
To mark the opening the school invited pupils, parents, suppliers, local authority officials and the local community to join them to celebrate the new space and this incredible milestone for the school. Hatchlands Primary School’s new building is their next step to making sure each of their pupils is happy, safe, valued and on the path to success.
Moira Anderson, Headteacher at Hatchlands Primary School commented
“Before our brand new building, we were in temporary buildings and the year groups were divided. Now the children have the space to come together. The extra space we now have, thanks to the new building, allows us to offer an extensive range of afterschool clubs, including a choir, sports clubs and performing arts.”
