Community Diagnostic Centres

The new range of standardised Hygieia Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) from Algeco is helping to alleviate the huge pressure caused by the demand for diagnostic tests within the NHS.

Finding out what is wrong with patients is vital to treating them as early as possible, and more than 85% of NHS patients require some form of diagnostic test.

As a national target, 99% of patients should wait less than six weeks for diagnostic tests. However, the UK currently has less diagnostic equipment than comparable countries, and around 1.6m people in England are currently waiting for a test.

CDCs offer much-needed, cost-effective diagnostic facilities with a short build time. They provide local communities with fast, flexible access to a range of checks, scans, and tests closer to home, reduce the number of hospital visits and cut waiting times.

Available in small, medium and large, our CDCs are built using our revolutionary platform-based modular construction system, which is considerably faster, lower cost and more sustainable than traditional construction methods.

The new CDCs are offered with a full design, delivery, construction and finishing service, so that customers can start using their CDC from day one. Our full turnkey package also incorporates servicing, including specialised electronics needed for sensitive imaging equipment.

We also offer a flexible financing option to respond to the increasingly constrained capital budgets across the NHS. This allows trusts to increase capacity using modular construction with a highly flexible operating lease option. This funding solution has low set up costs, and is accounted for as revenue expenditure, spread over the life of the lease.
