Water heater

If your water heater is not working correctly, there are a few simple checks you can carry out before requesting support. Most issues are linked to power supply, water flow, or a safety cut-out that can be reset quickly.

This guide covers both types of water heaters found in your unit.

Water Heater (Hot Tap Water)

Common problems:

  • No hot water
  • Water temperature incorrect
  • Strange noises
  • Leaks

Step-by-step reset:

  1. Check the main power switch is turned on.
  2. Check the fused spur is switched on and the fuse is correctly fitted.
  3. Turn the heater off at the main power switch.
  4. Wait at least five minutes.
  5. Turn the power back on to reset the safety cut-out.
  6. Confirm the power is on and the fuse is intact.

Water Boiler (Hot Drinks)

Common problems:

  • No hot water
  • Water not hot enough
  • Low water flow
  • Water coming from the vent pipe

Step-by-step checks:

  1. Check the water supply is turned on.
  2. Ensure the isolator valve is fully open.
  3. Check the fused spur is switched on and the fuse is in place.
  4. If the water supply and power are on but the unit is still not working, a fault may need further inspection.
